The Dirty Dozen & The Clean 15 List

Each year the Environmental Working Group (EWG) releases shopping lists that detail the safety of produce.
The Dirty Dozen list outlines the 12 fruit and vegetables that contain the highest amounts of pesticides (even after they’re washed). The EWG recommends buying these organic to reduce exposure to these harmful chemicals.
The Clean 15 however is a list of fruit and vegetables that have little to no trace evidence of pesticides and it’s therefore considered much safer to eat. So if you are on a budget its ok to get this produce non-organic.
Where possible I try to buy as much as I can organic to support those farmers and businesses doing the right thing and keeping our planet cleaner.
